Pixar is looking for Animators to design and create animated performances to meet specific needs for animation movie studio. Create the motions, gestures, and expressions of three-dimensional computer animated characters and objects. Review each assigned shots storyboards, story reels, recorded dialogue, set layout and direction. Read soundtrack and plan shot. Block movements in rough animation and show for the Directors approval. Complete work for Director approval in a timely manner. Attend animation dailies.
Employer will accept Bachelors degree in Animation or a related field. Education or experience must include: 1) DVD demonstration evidencing principles of animation to tell a story with meaning through character movement; 2) Storytelling skills; 3) Utilizing acting skills to bring characters to life and to communicate simple ideas with which the audience can empathize; 4) Composition, physical motion, weight, balance, gesture and posing, and texture and form; 5) 2D, 3D or stop motion animation; 6) Maya; and 7) ability to discern and fix micro-movements in a frame. Experience may be gained concurrently.
