Logistics Specialist

Job Description
As our company's Logistic Specialist, you will be essential in managing our business operations - scaling, receiving, inspecting, shipping merchandise and dispatching drivers. You'll keep all inbound & outbound traffic organized and moving forward while anticipating the needs of your team members and our clients.
In addition, you will need to be willing to take the initiative to improve processes and resolve any potential issues at the source. With your strong communication skills, you will be able to perform professionally in a fast-paced environment with the composure to react to change when needed.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Pre-inspect incoming loads, weigh trucks & material, record required customer information per state law
Issue receipts and payment information according to authorized grading
Receive material based on authorized purchase orders and company's material acceptance policy
Report in a timely manner to department managers verbally and/or in writing when receiving discrepant documentation or shipments
Process scale tickets, (un)loading sheets and other paperwork as needed
With management direction, provide service to customers/vendors by answering questions, providing information and assuring appropriate follow-through and/or resolution
Dispatch drivers for pickups/deliveries and reconcile dispatch records to ensure compliance and fulfillment of order requirements
Perform other tasks assigned by management
Understand company policy and follow all applicable Work Instructions and Procedures to ensure compliance with integrated state laws

Education/Specialized Training or
Experience:
Two to four years college degree(s) preferred or minimum 3 years work experience
Ability to perform mathematical calculations quickly and accurately
Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft word, excel and outlook

Qualifications:
Must be comfortable working with the general public
Must have great attention to detail and be willing to multi-task.
Strong written & verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus
Ability to meet tight deadlines and effectively manage multiple priorities and last minutes changes
Customer service oriented and detail oriented
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work with others and be part of the team
Individuals must understand instructions provided to them in a written, verbal, or diagrammatic form.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
