Laboratory Associate I, Purification Sciences needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Emeryville, CA. The Big Picture: - Providing support for QC or Manufacturing deviations. - All required Purification laboratory work is completed. - Purification labs are maintained in a clean and organized state. What You'll Be Doing: - Perform scaled down purification studies to support the development of new processes or to improve the existing manufacturing processes in addition to providing support for QC or Manufacturing deviations investigations. - Working under moderate to high degree of supervision from Lab
manager
and/or senior Associates II. - Executing scientific protocols in a team setting using scaled down column chromatography operations and ultra/dia-filtration. - Ensuring their own experimental work is performed exactly as defined in the approved study protocols following Purification SOPs. - Maintaining up to date records of all study activities in the Purification binders and their laboratory notebooks according to cGMP and Company documentation requirements. - Ensuring the Purification laboratory is stocked at all times with all the required raw materials/reagents/consumables/buffers for the studies to be performed. - Preparation of purchase requisitions as needed to order supplies to keep the Purification laboratory stocked. - Maintaining the Purification labs in a clean and organized manner to ensure efficient performance of activities. - Dismantling, cleaning and reassembling Purification equipment according to approved lab procedures. - All required Purification laboratory work is completed according to the approved study protocols and time lines. - All Purification equipment is cleaned and maintained in a usable state at all times. - All raw materials/consumables/reagents/buffers are available for use according to the Purification study time line. What You Need to Bring to the Table: - Perform Small and Pilot scale purification process using AKTA systems. - Pack small and Pilot scale chromatography columns. - Perform routine laboratory operations like buffer preparation, and filtration to support purification. - Working knowledge of AKTA Unicorn and Predictor software is preferred. - Perform resin screening/optimization studies using high throughput methods (PreDictor plates). - A flexible schedule with the ability to do some shift work and availability on weekends. - Familiarity with basic analytical protein techniques (UV, SDS-PAGE, Western blot and Elisa preferable). - Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - This
position
is required to work in a cGMP and ISO regulated environment as well as within the scope of Client's V and D internal policies and directives. - Must have good verbal communication skills as well as a strong sense of customer service and professionalism. - One to five (1 to 5) years of experience in a Purification process development lab in the biotechnology or diagnostics industry. - Prior experience working on purifying recombinant proteins from yeast and E.coli would be advantageous. - Working under moderate to high degree of supervision on Purification methodology. - Experience maintaining Purification laboratory. - Good verbal communication skills Knowledge of cGMP and GLP Knowledge of statistical data analysis and DOE methodology Problem solving/troubleshooting. - AKTA is a plus Team player. - Enter additional information here to provide greater detail for your request.
