We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a background in law firm financial management to join our dynamic team.
The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in supervising a team and possess in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, with a focus on trust accounting, heavy payables, and managing pooled accounts/litigation funds.
This is a hybrid position, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days working remotely.
Key
Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead a team consisting of an accounting specialist, a senior staff accountant, and a bookkeeper.
Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring adherence to accounting standards and best practices.
Manage heavy payables, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Oversee pooled accounts/litigation funds, maintaining meticulous records and reconciliations.
Execute trust accounting in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Work closely with a consultative CPA to ensure the seamless integration of financial processes.
Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager and Managing Partner to provide updates on financial matters and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Utilize QuickBooks for cash-based accounting, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Prepare quarterly financial reports for review by the executive team.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferredProven experience in law firm accounting and managing a financial team.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
