Job OverviewThe Coordinator within the Sustainability Certifications program of the Food and Agriculture Division works primarily with the Fair Trade USA, Equitable Food Initiative, Sustainably Grown, and Veriflora certification programs, and other certification programs as needed.
The primary responsibilities of the Coordinator include managing audit projects and administrative tasks related to communications, expense reports, invoices, audit scheduling, trip planning, report review and application processing.
The Coordinator is also responsible for documentation of all the aforementioned activities on an ongoing basis in SCS' database.
Must have strong proficiency or fluency in Spanish(both verbally and in writing).
Relevant Services/Schemes Fair Trade USAEquitable Food InitiativeSustainably GrownVeriflora Roles and ResponsibilitiesCommunications Manage daily email and telephone/Skype communications in English and Spanish with clients, SCS program personnel and contractorsSupport the program through client relationship management within a team environmentAudit Project CoordinationManage client annual audit certification cycleSupport scoping of audit projectsPrepare audit plans and related audit documents and formsTrack and meet audit project milestones and deadlinesPrepare work orders and invoices for clientsPerform quality review of audit reportsManage auditor schedules, workloads and travel budgetsPlan audits and trip itineraries for Sustainability staff and auditorsCarry out travel booking and logistical arrangements, as neededReview expense reports for Sustainability staff and auditorsOperationsEnsure program compliance with SCS quality systemMaintain new, existing and archived program files in accordance with program requirementsMaintain client database and client records, including but not limited to applications, reports, certificates, work orders, and invoicesDevelop, translate, and edit program materials, communication templates, and report templatesSupport development of training programs and related materials for auditorsAdditional tasks and projects as requested by the Director and ManagerMinimum QualificationsMust have strong proficiency or fluency in Spanish (both verbally and in writing).
Fluency in additional languages such as French or Portuguese a plus.
Fluency in English required.
Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Sustainability, Agricultural or Food Systems, Environmental Science, etc.
)Minimum 1
years' experience in project management or administrationExcellent writing, communication, and customer service skillsInitiative and ability to work independently; responsive and adaptive personalityExperience with Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word and Excel, Outlook and Power PointUnderstanding of food labeling programs and third-party certification initiativesStrong time-management and organizational skills; ability to prioritize work and meet deadlinesAdditional Preferred SkillsScope-specific work or study experience, and/or applied experience in agricultural or food production systemsProficiency in data management software such as FileMaker Pro database systemsExperience with third-party certification, ISO 9001 accreditation or similarPhysical RequirementsThis is an office based job.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
